J. Lawrence Marsh, MD, is the Chairman of the Department of Orthopedics and Rehabilitation. His expertise encompasses a wide variety of fractures, bone infections, and post-fracture problems such as failure to heal and post-traumatic arthritis.
He has a variety of research interests in the assessment and treatment of fractures with particular emphasis on minimally invasive techniques, post-traumatic arthritis, fracture classification, surgical education, and surgical simulation.
He is the current President of the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and immediate past president of the American Orthopaedic Association and the Mid-America Orthopaedic Association. He is a member of many professional organizations including the Orthopaedic Trauma Association, the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, National Board of Medical Examiners, and he is the past chair of the Orthopaedic Residency Review Committee of the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education.
