The community is invited to be a part of the Healthiest State Walk on Wednesday, Oct. 9, at University of Iowa Health Care—Iowa River Landing in Coralville. Walkers will meet at UI Health Care—IRL’s main entrance on East 9th Street at 11:45 a.m. and start the walk promptly at noon.
It’s your opportunity to share a commitment with thousands of other Iowans to improve the health of our state. The relatively short walk (1K or six tenths of a mile) can get you started thinking about exercise and healthy habits.
We’ll also help you get a good start with a reception before and after the walk at UI Health Care—Iowa River Landing. We’ll have bottled water, free cholesterol screenings, tours of our cardiac workout areas and lots of health information.
Individuals on the main UI Health Care campus are encouraged to chart out their own 1K walk at their convenience that same day or evening.
Those registering for either of these two walks at the Healthiest State website will receive an entry into a drawing for a $25 Hy-Vee gift card!
