UI Hospitals and Clinics

Sports Medicine Clinic

Our multidisciplinary approach brings together physicians and staff from family medicine, pediatrics, orthopaedics and rehabilitation therapies who specialize in the evaluation and diagnosis of musculoskeletal problems. UI Sports Medicine treats the following conditions and injuries:

  • Ankle Injuries-Among athletes and physically active people, ankles are one of the most common injury sites.
  • Elbow Injuries-The main conditions that affect the elbow are overuse of the muscles and tendons-or soft tissue that attaches muscles to bones-on the inside and outside of the elbow.
  • Knee Injuries-Because it supports nearly the entire weight of the body during walking, running, and jumping, the knee is vulnerable to a variety of injuries.
  • Shoulder Injuries-Gradual injury to soft tissue occurs with long-term overuse, such as repetitive lifting, pushing, pulling and throwing. For this reason, athletes and skilled workers are particularly prone to shoulder injuries.
