Saving your Skin: Advances in Melanoma Research and Treatment

Mole Research

Melanoma is the most dangerous and aggressive form of skin cancer, and is the leading cause of death from skin disease. There is an immediate need for new ways to combat melanoma's resistance to typical cancer treatments, and researchers at the University of Iowa are on their way to finding answers.

The program will describe what melanoma is, who is at risk, and why. UI Carver College of Medicine researchers and physicians will also discuss new ways to both prevent and treat melanoma, as well as promising new research breakthroughs.
