Menopause causes many hormonal changes that may make you feel inexplicably anxious, angry, or depressed, but you don’t have to let menopause turn you into a Debbie Downer or a Moody Judy. Every woman experiences menopause differently. Some women may not experience any noticeable symptoms, while others may have difficulty adjusting to changing hormone levels. Symptoms can last for a few months or for several years and are caused by changes in the female hormones estrogen and progesterone.
The UI Women’s Health Center at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics is raising awareness about how hormonal changes affect women during menopause. This program will help you learn more about how you can control mood swings and other menopausal symptoms and is a great starting point for discussing and creating a health and wellness plan with your physician.
We invite you to join us on Tuesday, March 31st from 6 to 7:30 for the Debbie Downer? Moody Judy? seminar, presented by Dr. Rachel Meija. First, Chef Tracy will teach a cooking class. Then, while you are enjoying the delicious meal, Dr. Mejia will present.
This FREE educational seminar is open to the public. Space is limited. Registration is required.
To register, call 319-353-6853 or register online. Please email any questions or concerns to email@example.com.
*Note: In order to maintain a comfortable environment that encourages audience participation, this event is intended for women only.
