No Bones About It

Register here!

Osteoporosis is a serious disease of the bones. Osteoporosis literally means “porous bone.” If you looked at your bones under a microscope, you would see that they have tiny pores that look a bit like honeycomb. When a person has osteoporosis, those pores become much larger and make the bones brittle and weak. As a result, bones can break from a minor fall or, in more serious cases, even from simple actions such as sneezing or bumping furniture.

The UI Women’s Health Center at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics spreading awareness about osteoporosis. No Bones About It can help you to make informed decisions for you and your family members in regards to living a healthy lifestyle. No Bones About It is a great starting point for discussing and creating a health and wellness plan with your physician.

We invite you to join us on Tuesday, May 26th from 6 to 7:30 for the No Bones About seminar, presented by Dr. Nicole Nisly. First, Chef Tracy will teach a cooking class. Then, while you are enjoying the delicious meal, Dr. Nisly will present. This FREE educational seminar is open to the public. Space is limited. Registration is required.

To register, call 319-353-6853 or register online. Please email any questions or concerns to spiritofwomen@uiowa.edu.
