Dinner with a Doc: Overwhelmed
Event Date:Tuesday, October 28th
Event Time: 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Meeting a deadline at the office, cleaning out the garage, family responsibilities… we all have that ever-growing to-do list. Let’s face it… sometimes our lives stress us out! The UI Women’s Health Center is partnering with the Department of Psychiatry to raise awareness about the importance of mental health. Stress can sometimes lead to serious mental problems such as depression. Clinical depression doesn’t discriminate – it affects men and women of all ages, races, and socioeconomic status. One in four women and one in 10 men will suffer from depression at some point in their lives.
Join us to learn about some difference between stress and depression. First, Chef Tracy will do a short cooking presentation. Then, while you are enjoying a delicious meal, Dr. Kopelman will present Overwhelmed.
Dr. Robin Kopelman is the Co-Director for the Women’s Wellness and Counseling at the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics in the Women’s Health Center. Her clinical care focuses on women’s and maternal mental health, especially during pregnancy and the postpartum.
