Based on a rigorous review, the American College of Surgeons and the American Burn Association--two national organizations--jointly identified the UI Hospitals and Clinics Burn Treatment Center as a verified burn care center for high-quality care, making us the only verified burn center in Iowa (2006).
We are one of only 40 to 45 burn centers in the United States that is officially verified by the American Burn Association and the American College of Surgeons.
The center treats more than 800 burn and trauma patients each year.
