Survivorship Clinics

Cancer survivors require care that is specific to meet their unique and individual needs, assess for cancer recurrence and monitor late and long-term side effects, but also focus on wellness, prevention, health promotion, and quality of life. The goal of survivorship care is to optimize a patient’s quality of life by empowering them to want to be healthy and engage in healthy activities.

Your doctor or a survivorship clinician will help you determine which survivorship clinic is best for you.

For appointments, please call (319) 356-4200.

Medical Oncology

Hematology-Oncology survivorship clinics specialize in the long-term care needs of adult cancer survivors (18 years +) who have been treated with all types of therapy including chemotherapy, biotherapy, surgery, and radiation. Cancer treatment may cause unwanted side effects such as fatigue, pain, memory and concentration issues, growth and hormone problems, physical disabilities, distress - including depression and anxiety, and problems with sexual health. Care is specifically designed to address and manage these problems. The nurse practitioner providing care works in collaboration with your cancer doctor(s) and specialists to ensure that you are as healthy as possible after cancer treatment.
