Bev Klug

Bev Klug has received extensive training from Jon Kabat-Zinn and the staff at the Center for Mindfulness at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center, and has been approved as a Certified Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction Teacher by that institution. Klug has practiced mindfulness meditation for many years and started the MBSR program at UI Hospitals and Clinics in 1996. In addition to teaching mindfulness, Bev has been a teacher in multiple settings and is also a Licensed Marriage and Family therapist with over 20 years of therapy experience with individuals, couples, families, and groups. She integrates mindfulness practices into therapy and has been teaching Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy for prevention of depression relapse since 2003.

Kerri Eness-Potter, MA

Kerri Eness-Potter

Kerri Eness-Potter, program coordinator for Mindfulness Programs, teaches mindfulness-based courses for University of Iowa undergraduate students, teens, and other mindfulness programs offered at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. Eness-Potter has been with the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics program receiving training, supervision and, ultimately teaching, since 2007. She has a personal practice of mindfulness meditation, has participated in extended retreats, and has also received training in mindfulness-based stress reduction for health care professionals from Jon Kabat-Zinn and Saki Santorelli through the Center for Mindfulness at the University of Massachusetts. Eness-Potter taught at West High School in Iowa City for 15 years and also worked in staff development for the Iowa City Community School District.

Christine Allen, LISW

Christine Allen

Christine Allen has been teaching MBSR since 2004. She has served as a volunteer and co-facilitator in the program since 2001. Christine has practiced mindfulness meditation for many years, received training in MBSR for health care professionals from Jon Kabat-Zinn, Saki Santorelli and staff at the Center for Mindfulness, and has attended several extended mindfulness meditation retreats. She has a variety of volunteer and professional experiences and currently works as a social worker at Grant Wood Area Education Experiences. Christine is the instructor of Mindfulness (07P:026 or 407:025) for first-year students at the University of Iowa.

Chris Klug, MA

Chris Klug

Chris Klug has been teaching MBSR since 2001. Chris has practiced mindfulness meditation for many years, received training in MBSR for health care professionals from Jon Kabat-Zinn, Saki Santorelli and staff at the Center for Mindfulness, and attended several extended mindfulness meditation retreats. Klug has a wide range of experiences in the helping professions and currently conducts grief counseling in private practice. In addition to teaching MBSR, he is a consultant to the Palliative Care staff at the UI Hospitals and Clinics.
