At the Patients' Library, you'll find a quiet comfortable place to read, explore, and learn about your health.
Visit the library on the eighth floor of Colloton Pavilion, near elevator F, anytime from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekdays and 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on weekends.
At the library you can check out:

Patient Education Center
The library houses a number of printed and online resources to help you track down treatment and recovery information for specific diseases and conditions.
The Patient Education Center is a room where patients and families can use the computers or meet with medical staff in a more private setting. To find out about reserving this room, please contact the librarian at 319-384-8908.
The Patients’ Library also offers access to the TiGR On-Demand Education system with many education videos to watch on channels 30 through 45. The Patient Channel can be found on Channel 3.8 and has many topics that run in a loop each day.
Children's Story Hour
Every Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. is children’s story time and children of all ages and their families are welcome. Stickers and bookmarks are a bonus at the end of these events.
On some occasions, the Patients' Library sponsors visiting storybook characters who visit the clinics and in-patient areas.
Free Book Cart
A book cart stocked with free books has been provided by Children's Miracle Network and the Patients' Library.
Additional donations of new books come an annual fundraiser through Barnes and Noble a the Coral Ridge Mall, and from many members of the community and around the state for this service. Volunteers visit patients and help children select a book. Visitors to the Patients’ Library may also select a book from the Free Book Cart.
If you wish to have materials from the library delivered directly to your room, please call 6-2468 on a hospital phone Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. to place your request.
The library offers patients a number of communication services, including:
- scanning to email
- fax service
Library staff and volunteers can help you download pictures and prepare CarePages, communicating to friends and family the condition of your loved one.
The Patients' Library welcomes donations of books, children's materials, current magazines, magazine subscriptions, videos, audio books, and volunteer time. For more information on volunteering, please visit Volunteer Services.
