IowaCare
IowaCare participants now can receive primary medical care services closer to home.
In addition to Broadlawns Medical Center and the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, the Iowa Department of Human Services has authorized several Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs) to serve as medical homes for specific counties. IowaCare participants who live in one of the specific counties will now receive their primary care services from the designated medical home. Over time, additional counties will be assigned to medical homes. Until a county is assigned to a medical home, primary care will continue to be available for IowaCare residents of that county at the UI Hospitals and Clinics.
