University of Iowa
I was born in Lagos, Nigeria, where I started my schooling. I finished high school in Staten Island, NY, and then moved on to Long Island NY for undergraduate and medical school at the State University of New York, Stony Brook. I finally moved to Iowa to join my family and start Family Medicine residency.
Along the way I have been involved in bench research during my undergraduate and post-graduate years, both in academia and pharmaceutical companies. My research included working on mesodermal development genes (mesd) and low density lipoprotein receptor (LDLR) genes and their consequential diseases, Alzheimer’s (biochemistry/ electrophysiology). My final research project was on delayed presentation of patient’s to health care facilities in Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, Lagos, Nigeria.
My hobbies include dancing, cooking experimental dishes and reading.
