University of North Dakota
I was born and raised in Grand Forks, ND. I stayed in town to go to the University of North Dakota for my undergraduate degree, majoring in Biology and receiving minors in Chemistry and Psychology. As a creature of habit, I stayed at UND for medical school, only leaving Grand Forks for my third year, which I spent in the "big city" of Fargo, ND. During my internal medicine preliminary year (Neurology) at UIHC, I decided that Family Medicine was my calling and I was graciously allowed to make the change. My family and I were thrilled that we were able to stay in Iowa City for my FM training. I am excited to get back to seeing some kids, OB patients, and the full realm of medicine once again!
I am married to my wonderful wife Molly, who was teaching elementary school before we started having children. Now she is a "full time mommy" to my little girls Lily (born May of 2009) and Claire (born April of 2011). I spend most of my free time with my family, whether it's going for walks to the park or attending the many family friendly activities in downtown Iowa City and the surrounding communities. I also enjoy exercising, playing guitar, and getting back "up North" to lakes country where I love to waterski.
Feel free to contact me as I love to talk about Iowa City and UIHC!
