    UIHC Front

The Department of Pharmaceutical Care at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics offers an American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) accredited Postgraduate Year 1 (PGY1) Pharmacy Residency, with a track that has an Ambulatory Care focus. In addition, UIHC offers an ASHP accredited Postgraduate Year 2 (PGY2) Ambulatory Care Pharmacy Residency. Early committal to the PGY2 Ambulatory Care Residency is available to current residents in the PGY1 Ambulatory Care focused track. This will allow them to become proficient in patient focused care and develop the skills necessary to become a competent clinician in this area. Overall, upon graduation from this program they will become an Ambulatory Care Clinical Pharmacy Specialist and they will be able to qualify for at least a non-tenure clinical track faculty appointment associated with a Health Science College.
