Emergency Room Training

Welcome

The Emergency Medicine Residency at University of Iowa is an ACGME-accredited program that offers a uniquely comprehensive, challenging, and individual experience in a collaborative and empowering environment. The state-of-the-art 60,000 square foot Emergency Department has 45 beds. Our 711-bed hospital serves as the only Level 1 trauma center in Iowa making our program the premier rural emergency medicine program in the country.

With 20 years of experience training highly skilled emergency medicine physicians, our program continues to excel in training future leaders through excellent clinical training including our own pediatric ED, many fellowship offerings, robust critical care education, 16 weeks of electives to tailor your education, AirCare flight medicine, and dynamic faculty.
