Paramedic Training

The Paramedic Specialist Full-time Training Program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP).

The EMSLRC has trained hundreds of paramedics from the U.S. and abroad since its inception in 1979. As one of three accredited Paramedic Specialist Training programs in Iowa, we specialize in preparing career-minded EMTs to attain the highest certification in prehospital emergency medicine. To be considered for admission, the student must be, at minimum, a National Registry of EMTs or State of Iowa Bureau of EMS certified EMT-Basic. International students are welcome and encouraged to contact the EMSLRC directly for information on admission.

In the popular, accelerated Paramedic Specialist Full-time Training program, participants complete training in approximately 9-10 months.

Paramedic Specialist Full-time

Internships are available at a number of approved sites throughout the country.
