The clinic evaluates and treats patients with corneal and external eye diseases including:
Genetic cornea diseases
Confocal microscopy--tandem scanning confocal microscopy (TSCM) is used to detect and manage infections and inflammations of the cornea (keratitis). TSCM is also used to analyze corneal dystrophies, tear film abnormalities and nonspecific keratitis.
Corneal topography--analysis of the shape of the cornea. The images may be used for pre-surgery screening of cataract, corneal and refractive surgery patients and for post-surgery review of astigmatism. The images also can be used to assist in difficult contact lens fittings as well as customizing laser vision correction.
