Claire B. (HCCC Clinical Trial Volunteer)
I was relieved they asked me to be in a trial. They were trying to give me the best options for my cancer. Dr. Mo and the rest of the staff truly cared about my life. They went above and beyond to help.
I've lost my parents, aunts, and uncles to the same disease, so I decided it was time to find out what I could do to help. Research helps. And it gives you peace of mind.

I think it's interesting to learn about all of the research studies happening at the University of Iowa and I take pride in possibly advancing medical research. I also like to make a little bit of money. It's a pretty easy thing to do.
I'm involved because I really want to help other patients. When they asked me to participate I said, "Oh yeah, I'll help however I can." It's been an excellent experience. I've mostly just filled out surveys and have had some pleasant chats with researchers. I'm all about research that can make us feel better."

This is the second study I've participated in and it's been a good experience. I just like helping the vaccine and research team, and if I can help future generations to come up with effective vaccines then I'm more than happy to do so.
