Cytogenetic Studies in Acute Leukemia

The purpose of this research study is to determine if individuals' responses to treatment are related to particular leukemia cell types. Data obtained at several institutions indicate that individuals with acute leukemia may be divided into groups based on certain cytogenetic (chromosome) characteristics of the leukemia cells. Investigators are researching similar issues in individuals diagnosed with multiple myeloma.
