Gene Modifiers in CF Lung and Liver Disease

Patients with CF display a wide range of disease severity, particularly in pulmonary and liver phenotype. The purpose of this research study is to collect blood samples from patients with CF to see if non-CF genes (genetic modifiers) contribute to the severity or mildness of CF lung and liver disease.  Identifying genetic modifiers that influence lung and liver disease severity may ultimately lead to better understanding of CF lung disease and be useful in the development of new treatments.
