Transplant Support Group

During the months leading up to your transplant and for your entire life following, you may find help and comfort by sharing your feelings and experiences with others who have faced similar circumstances in their transplant journey.

Our organ transplant center has an active group of patients and family members who meet every other month to discuss a range of topics and concerns.

Ask your transplant coordinator about our support groups, you'll be welcome to take part in the activities at any time.

Meeting times are from 5:30 to 7 p.m. on the third Thursday of the month. The group meets in the Community Room at UI Health Care-Iowa River Landing, 105 East 9th Street, Coralville, Iowa 52241. The building is located near the Interstate-80 Exit 242, right off of First Avenue in Coralville. Parking is free and located in the ramp next to the building.

Facilitators for many of the discussions include psychologists, nurse coordinators, and social workers from our transplant care team.
