Hospitality is a big draw for the Iowa City and Coralville area. Our visitors and patients have several hotel and motel options in the area. Most accommodations can promise that you're minutes from UI Hospitals and Clinics and UI Children's Hospital, with the range of drive-times running literally from 2 to 12 minutes.

As you make your selection from the list of available hotels and motels you may want to inquire about special hospital-rate discounts and shuttle service. Also note that on certain weekends--Hawkeye home football games in the fall, University graduation in mid-May, and weddings in June--hotels and motels near the hospital tend to fill up well in advance.

The UI Hospitals and Clinics concierge service can help you book a room. You can reach the service at 319-356-1900 or 6-1900 from a hospital phone.

A concierge is available 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

• Overnight Stay for Guests in the Hospital

  The Helen K. Rossi Volunteer Guest House, including the University of Iowa Children's Hospital Family Suite, provides family-centered lodging and support services to families and patients far from home during their treatment.

• Ronald McDonald House and Hope Lodge

  Two guest houses are available very close to UI Hospitals and Clinics for eligible patients and family members: Ronald McDonald House and the Hope Lodge.
