'Call for Kids with Cancer' Radiothon raises $77,000 for UI Children's Hospital
Clear Channel, Cedar Rapids, raised almost $77,131 during its fifth annual "Call for Kids with Cancer" Radiothon, which was broadcast live Feb. 3 and 4 from University of Iowa Children's Hospital in Iowa City, Iowa.
The Clear Channel broadcast team -- including Mix 96.5, 100.7 The Fox, KXIC 800 and WMT-AM 600 -- joined with UI Children's Hospital families and patients to share their stories of courage and hope.
All of the funds raised during the event go to University of Iowa Dance Marathon, the largest student-run philanthropic organization at the UI, which raises funds to support families affected by pediatric cancer.
Clear Channel has raised more than $240,000 to support UI Children's Hospital and this year's efforts marked a 90 percent increase from last year's total.
