Cardiac Rehabilitation (CHAMPS)

CHAMPS, UI Hospitals and Clinics Cardiovascular Health, Assessment, Management and Prevention Service, offers several programs to help you improve your heart health.

Outpatient cardiac rehabilitation (phase II) is available to help you recover after a heart attack, heart procedure, or surgery.

Our prevention program is available for anyone interested in reducing their risk of cardiovascular disease or maintaining their heart health.

Our qualified cardiac rehabilitation specialists will create a safe, effective exercise program for you. They are available for assistance and to monitor your progress. A range of educational classes are available at no extra cost, including:

  • Nutrition
  • Principles of exercise
  • Heart disease and treatment
  • Risk factors
  • Stress management
  • Individual instruction on exercising with diabetes, peripheral vascular disease, or other disorders
