Staffing
Residents are required to fulfill the service commitment (staffing) designed to ensure that residents gain experience and can function as competent clinical practitioners. Residents are assigned to work in either a decentralized pharmacy satellite or as the pharmacist for one of the decentralized teams.
Staffing requirements are as follows:
- Every other weekend on a rotating basis upon completion of orientation. One day of compensatory time is granted for each weekend staffed.
- Either Thanksgiving or Christmas including additional days around the holiday. Days scheduled off around and including the holiday are time off and the resident is not required to work and this time is not deducted from vacation or compensatory time.
- All residents will have 4th of July, Labor Day, New Year’s Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, and Memorial Day off; however, they may have to staff the weekend around one of these holidays.
