Third year residents start the year with a six month block of family medicine rotations, which includes inpatient family medicine, cardiology, intensive care, obstetrics, orthopedics and radiology, and rheumatology. The second six months of the year is spent in outpatient psychiatry, which is the first half of a 12-month experience in outpatient psychiatry. Residents devote one half day per week to continuity of care in the Family Medicine Clinic and in Counseling and Health Promotion Services (CHPS) during their third year.
Third year residents take senior call for both family medicine and psychiatry.
