Thank you for your interest in the Internal Medicine-Psychiatry Residency Program at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.

Our five-year accredited program recognizes that traditional distinctions between medical and psychiatric illness, and traditional models of delivering care do not adequately address the needs of complicated patients. Training consists of formal teaching and clinical experiences on assigned rotations. Our residents learn to effortlessly shift their clinical attention from chronic physical disorders to concurrent psychiatric conditions with the ultimate goal of delivering unified care.
