The resident is required to fulfill the service commitment (staffing) designed to ensure they gain experience and can function as a competent clinical practitioner, The staffing experience includes providing services to either the pediatric pharmacy satellite or to a decentralized pediatric pharmacy team that covers the pediatric intensive care unit, neonatal intensive care unit, general pediatrics, pediatric hematology/oncology, labor and delivery, and newborn nursery.
Staffing requirements are as follows:
- Every other weekend upon completion of orientation.
- The resident will work either Thanksgiving or Christmas and may staff additional days around these holidays.
- The 4th of July, Labor Day, New Year's Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, and
Memorial Day are scheduled days off; however, the resident may have to staff the weekend around one of these holidays.
