Amir Jalilian, MD
Although I was born in Stillwater, OK, I was raised and educated in Iran. I graduated from Iran University of Medical Science in 2005. I worked two years in the emergency department as a general physician and then I returned to the United States in 2008. Before I started my residency, I worked as a research assistant in Cardiac Rehabilitation and Alzheimer’s disease and completed a clinical internship in Internal Medicine at the Iowa City VA Medical Center. I also finished an observership rotation in the Cardiac Unit at St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids, IA.
Since my wife and I moved to Iowa, we have found Iowans to be exceedingly welcoming and friendly. I feel the Family Medicine Residency Program at the University of Iowa is also welcoming and friendly, with the added bonus of an excellent residency program, a solid foundation in academics and research, and a dedicated faculty.
