I got an interview! Now what?
What should I expect the night before my interview?
We will meet you in the downtown Sheraton hotel lobby for dinner with current residents. Dress is casual attire--no tie or skirt needed.
This dinner is an informal opportunity for you to get to know our residents, enjoy downtown Iowa City, and get some answers to your questions about the program and about life in Iowa City. Don’t be shy about asking about the things that are on your mind.
What should I expect on the interview day?
We will meet you at 7:45 a.m. at the main entrance of the hospital. We suggest business attire for your interview day.
Your day starts with Stroke Rounds on the Neurology In-patient unit with an overview of the program, followed by a PowerPoint presentation about our program. You will join our residents for a catered lunch and get a glimpse of our clinical experiences at our noon case conference. You will interview with our program director, two associate program directors, and our department Head. Between interviews you will join a guided tour, relax in the resident lounge, and have ample opportunity to interact with residents.
