Eligibility

US Allopathic Medical School Graduates

  • Has passed USMLE Step 1 and USMLE Step 2 Clinical Knowledge and Clinical Skills.
  • Application via the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS) including:
    • A minimum of three letters of recommendation;
    • Dean’s letter;
    • Medical school transcript verifying appropriate medical education to train in a large teaching hospital;
    • Personal statement (there are no specific requirements for the personal statement but in general it should explain why you are interested in a combined residency and justify why you would be a good candidate); and
    • Photograph.
    • We do not require a “Chairman’s Letter.”

US Osteopathic Medical School Graduates

  • Has passed USMLE Step 1 and USMLE Step 2 Clinical Knowledge and Clinical Skills.
  • Application via the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS) including:
    • A minimum of three letters of recommendation;
    • Dean’s letter;
    • Medical school transcript verifying appropriate medical education to train in a large teaching hospital;
    • Personal statement (there are no specific requirements for the personal statement but in general it should explain why you are interested in a combined residency and justify why you would be a good candidate); and
    • Photograph.
    • We do not require a “Chairman’s Letter.”

International Medical School Graduates

  • Has passed USMLE Step 1 and USMLE Step 2 Clinical Knowledge and Clinical Skills.
  • Appropriate medical education to train in a large US teaching hospital.
  • Application via the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS) including:
    • A minimum of three letters of recommendation (Letters of recommendation written by supervising physicians in the US setting are very beneficial in helping us assess your ability to function in our clinical setting.);
    • Dean’s letter;
    • Medical school transcript verifying appropriate medical education to train in a large teaching hospital (preference is given to candidates who completed medical school training within the past five years or enrolled in an accredited internship or residency program within the past five years);
    • Personal statement (there are no specific requirements for the personal statement but in general it should explain why you are interested in a combined residency and justify why you would be a good candidate); and
    • Photograph.
    • We do not require a “Chairman’s Letter.”
  • If you are graduate of a medical school outside of the United States or Canada, a certificate from the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) must accompany your application. Learn more about ECFMG certification.
