Outpatient Rotation: Neurology
Internal medicine residents join a neurology staff and 3 neurology residents where they spend two weeks on the inpatient consult service and two weeks in general and subspecialty neurology clinics. Outpatient case mix includes chronic migraines, neuromuscular disorders, sleep medicine, multiple sclerosis, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, and stroke follow-up. Inpatient case mix ranges from myasthenia gravis crisis to evaluation of altered mental status and stroke.
If a resident seeks more exposure to stroke, they have an opportunity to request an additional rotation with the Neurology Stroke Inpatient service.
