Second Year Residency

During the second year, residents begin their surgical rotations. They have five rotations spending ten to 12 weeks in pediatric ophthalmology/strabismus, glaucoma, neuro-ophthalmology, retina, and at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Iowa City. While on the neuro-ophthalmology rotation, residents spend one day a week on cataract surgery.
