As Iowa's only academic medical center, the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics (UIHC) Department of Pharmaceutical Care is committed to training the next generation of pharmacists and has offered pharmacy residency programs since 1949. Pharmacy graduates are trained through several PGY1 and PGY2 residency programs. Two training programs are accredited by the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) and two are currently seeking accreditation. Additionally, the strong partnership with the University of Iowa College of Pharmacy allows us to provide an extensive well-rounded teaching, practice, and clinical research experience for our residents. Our residency graduates have gone on to key clinical, academic, and pharmacy leadership positions throughout the United States.
