Thank you for your interest in the Neurology Residency Program offered by the Department of Neurology at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.
Our three-year accredited program will provide you with exposure to a wide range of clinical problems of varied complexity as well as in-depth experience in direct patient care and continuity of care. Our residency requires a preliminary year in Internal Medicine. All candidates matching into the categorical (PG-2) Neurology residency are guaranteed a PG-1 position at Iowa.
The residency provides structure, mentorship, support, and direction. The resident is responsible for using this framework to maximize professional and personal development. The successful resident will set learning goals, design objectives to meet these goals, and monitor progress. Tools for life-long learning will be developed as well, as attention to personal well-being is vital to the practice of medicine.
We hope that you consider becoming part of our tradition of clinical excellence and recognized leadership in neurology.
