Welcome
Thank you for your interest in the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Residency Program at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.
Our two-year accredited program offers exposure to a wide range of mental health problems of varied complexity in patients from their early school years through adolescence. We are committed to balancing a strong neurobiological and sociocultural focus with psychotherapy training. Our residents work as a team alongside other childhood specialty services including child psychology and neuropsychology, education, social work, nursing, and speech pathology to provide optimal care for our patients. Research opportunities are also available for those interested. Our didactics provide instruction in all areas of child and adolescent psychiatry in an environment that fosters intellectual curiosity and collaboration.
We invite you to explore all the possibilities training at the UI Hospitals and Clinics has to offer.
