Thank you for your interest in the Obstetrics and Gynecology Residency Program offered by the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.
Our four-year ACGME accredited program offers the opportunity to obtain training at a nationally recognized program with world-class facilities. The University of Iowa residency offers the surgical, obstetrical and subspecialty volume to become a well-trained private practitioner or to pursue a subspecialty fellowship.
Our faculty are nationally recognized. We have members who serve as board examiners, sit on editorial boards and major obstetrical and gynecology journals and have been editors and contributors to major texts in Ob/Gyn.
We have faculty dedicated to teaching. Many of our faculty have received recognition through the College of Medicine and nationally for their contribution to resident and medical student education. Many of our faculty are active in research and have NIH grants and publish their findings in the obstetrical and gynecology literature.
We have five accredited fellowship programs. The Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery Fellowship Program is ACGME accredited. The Fellowship programs in Gynecologic Oncology, Maternal Fetal Medicine, combined Maternal Fetal Medicine/Clinical Genetics and Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility are ABOG accredited.
