  • Gifting

    Donations to the Graduate Medical Education Development Fund support advanced medical training for approximately 750 residents and fellows at the University of Iowa, the only academic medical center in the state.

    FICA Tax Refund Information

    For those former GME medical and dental residents and fellows who submitted to the University of Iowa a consent form to be eligible for a FICA tax refund, please note the following update:

    March 14, 2013, FICA refund checks are being mailed to all residents/fellows included in the University’s refund claim. The IRS refunded to the University all outstanding amounts except for the fourth quarter of calendar year 1999 and the fourth quarter of calendar year 2000. An additional refund will be mailed to residents who were in a program during one or both of those quarters once the University receives the refund check(s) from the IRS.
