Speech and Swallowing Clinic

Normal speech communication and swallowing are, in reality, very complex processes. Many disorders disrupt communication and/or swallowing and cause serious problems.

The UI Speech and Swallowing Service staff includes speech-language pathologists certified by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association and licensed by the state of lowa. The staff works closely with physicians and other health care professionals at UI Hospitals and Clinics as well as in the patient's community to provide effective management of swallowing, language, voice and speech disorders.
