Services are available for patients with deformities of the spine including osteoporosis, scoliosis, hunchback or roundback, and paralytic deformities.
Treatments include medication, kyhoplasty or surgery. Patients who have compression fractures can take advantage of a new technique called kyphoplasty. Surgeons insert a catheter into the site of the fracture and inject a bone cement that can heal the fracture nearly instantaneously. This procedure can be helpful in some patients who have developed a traumatic fracture or a pathological fracture due to spread of cancer.
