La transiluminación es el resplandor de una luz brillante a través de una cavidad u órgano del cuerpo para propósitos de diagnóstico. Ésta puede ser utilizada en la cabeza, escroto o pecho en el bebé prematuro o recién nacido o en el seno en una mujer adulta.
