Química del LCR
El LCR (líquido cefalorraquídeo) es un líquido transparente que circula en el espacio que rodea a la médula espinal y al encéfalo. El LCR protege al encéfalo y a la médula espinal de una lesión al actuar como un cojín de líquido. Por lo general, el LCR se obtiene a través de una punción lumbar (punción espinal). Durante el procedimiento, se inserta una aguja entre la tercera y cuarta vértebra lumbar y se extrae LCR para ser evaluado.
