Lesiones meningocócicas en la espalda
La meningococcemia es una infección peligrosa que ocurre cuando la bacteria Neisseria meningitidis invade el torrente sanguíneo. Por lo general hay sangrado dentro de la piel (petequias y púrpura) y puede haber hasta muerte del tejido (necrosis o gangrena). Si el paciente sobrevive, las áreas sanan dejando cicatrices.
