Sinusitis
La sinusitis es la inflamación de las cavidades sinusales que son espacios húmedos y huecos en los huesos del cráneo. Hay cuatro pares de senos:
- Senos frontales
- Senos maxilares
- Senos etmoides
- Senos esfenoides (no se muestran en la ilustración)
Si la abertura de la cavidad sinusal se tapona, el flujo de moco se bloquea y la presión crece lo que causa dolor e inflamación.
