Fitoquímicos
Las plantas proporcionan muchos nutrientes benéficos (fitoquímicos) que pueden proteger contra el cáncer. Los isotiocianatos (que se hallan en el brócoli, la coliflor y la col de Bruselas) pueden suprimir el crecimiento de tumores y la producción de hormonas. Los flavoniodes (manzanas, uvas, vino tinto, etc.), la soya y el licopeno (que se hallan en el tomate) también han demostrado proteger contra el cáncer.
