Detención del sangrado con presión y hielo
El sangrado de la mayoría de las heridas puede detenerse aplicando presión directa sobre la herida. Esto evita la interrupción del suministro sanguíneo al miembro afectado. Cuando el sangrado es severo y una arteria principal ha sido afectada, la presión puede resultar insuficiente y puede ser necesario colocar un torniquete.
