Cor pulmonale

Niveles sanguíneos de oxígeno crónicamente bajos pueden ocasionar hipertensión pulmonar (presión sanguínea alta en los pulmones) y, posiblemente, cor pulmonale. Esta condición recibe también el nombre de insuficiencia ventricular derecha y se caracteriza por un aumento del tamaño del ventrículo derecho. El tratamiento se debe centrar en la enfermedad subyacente y puede implicar oxigenoterapia, una dieta baja en sal o bloqueadores del canal de calcio.
