Taponamiento cardíaco

El taponamiento cardíaco es una condición que implica la compresión del corazón causada por la acumulación de sangre o líquido en el espacio entre el miocardio o músculo cardíaco y el pericardio o saco que recubre al corazón. Esta acumulación que se produce en el pericardio evita que los ventrículos se expandan completamente y que no puedan bombear la sangre adecuadamente.
