Histoplasmosis diseminada

Histoplasmosis es una infección micótica causada por la inhalación de polvo proveniente de excremento de pájaro infectado con esporas. En la forma diseminada, la infección se extiende de los pulmones al resto del cuerpo. La tasa de mortalidad es bastante alta para personas con histoplasmosis generalizada (diseminada) que no reciben tratamiento, pero se reduce significativamente cuando éste se realiza.
