Bocio
Es una hinchazón en el cuello debido a un agrandamiento de la glándula tiroidea. El tamaño puede ir desde un solo nódulo pequeño hasta una protuberancia grande en el cuello. La tiroides hinchada puede ejercer presión sobre la tráquea y el esófago, lo cual puede provocar tos, sibilancias, dificultades para respirar o deglutir. Esta afección sólo necesita tratamiento si está causando síntomas.
