Mamograma

Es una radiografía de las mamas que se utiliza para encontrar tumores y para ayudar a establecer la diferencia entre enfermedad no cancerosa (benigna) y cancerosa (maligna). Se coloca una mama a la vez sobre una superficie plana que contiene la placa de rayos X. Luego, un dispositivo denominado compresor presiona firmemente contra la mama para ayudar a aplanar el tejido mamario. Se comprime cada seno en sentido horizontal y luego oblicuo mientras se toma la imagen de rayos X desde cada posición.
